
True value equals the sum of your expertise, superpowers, and the value as perceived by your ideal client. When sharing this formula, I find the trickiest part for trusted advisors is identifying superpowers. Yes, those things that make you uniquely you!
To get the conversation started, let me share my top 3 superpowers:
#1: A bridge between two worlds. I’ve never fit squarely into a box, so I created my own. I blend my expertise in financial psychology with strong business strategy to empower service professionals with their relationship with money and then use this information to earn their true worth. Who do you know who has a Masters Degree in Psychology, certification in Co Active Coaching, is a former FDIC Commissioned Bank Examiner, and is an accomplished coach and consultant in women and wealth psychology? Me! My coaching bridges the rational world (business, marketing, and pricing strategy) with the emotional world (the client’s emotional transformation and your feelings about your value). The result – Confidence, clarity and standing in your superpowers!
#2: Highly verbal. I was born with something to say, and I have used this gift to advocate for myself, my clients, and for a world where financial conversations aren’t taboo and all people are paid equitably. Since 2003, I have published five books, the most recent called Breaking Money Silence: How to Shatter Taboos, Talk Openly about Finances, and Live a Richer Life, and written numerous articles on wealth psychology and financial communication. As a paid professional speaker, I have presented keynotes and workshops across the United States and Canada to empower advisors, women and families to communicate more effectively. Currently, I use this superpower to empower women like you to find their voices and use them to advocate for their self-worth and the work they believe in.
#3: Intuitive listener. As an intuitive person, I pick up on the emotions of people around me, even if they are not giving voice to their experience. This is a superpower I was born with and one that I have developed. My intuition allows me to tailor my work with clients to meet their emotional needs and business objectives. I instinctively know when to listen to you or back off and let you figure it out on your own. My clients love this superpower as it creates a safe space to explore, grow, and tap into their true value.
